Huge thanks to Derek for helping me with selling my property! From originally thinking of using them for property management to ultimately deciding to sell, Derek has been awesome! Helped explain all the things associated with it so it didn’t seem so overwhelming. And if you’re looking to rent your property out, they have the best rates AND more access to advertise because they have access to more military listings. With Derek being retired Navy, he knows all the ins and outs of military moves and life which gave me huge piece of mind trying to do this from a different state knowing that he knows the stressors and lingo associated with active duty life. It’s clear he truly cares about taking care of his clients, especially military personnel. I will 100% be contacting Derek again to rent/buy/etc. should I end up back in SD. Thank you!!!

The process of renting a property through the aforementioned company in Murrieta proved to be quite challenging. Communication was lacking, requiring consistent effort on our part to initiate and uphold contact. Upon finalizing the rental agreement, we were granted permission to occupy the residence two days prior to the official move-in date, on the condition that we undertake cleaning responsibilities left by the previous occupants. Despite the overall cleanliness of the residence, the pool exhibited significant neglect, with the upsetting presence of a deceased rodent. Throughout the tenancy, we encountered persistent issues, including malfunctioning sprinklers, unresolved electrical concerns, plumbing problems, and roof leaks. Regrettably, the solutions presented by the property management team proved to be consistently deferred and only temporary in nature. Upon the conclusion of our thirty-four-month lease, we were compelled to vacate the property as the owners were returning to it from overseas. As a military family, we consistently demonstrated respect for the property, upkeeping it in excellent condition. We enlisted professional carpet cleaning services biannually and meticulously maintained the 3200+ square foot residence. When requesting a final inspection, the property management company scheduled it for the last possible day. Despite their apparent intent to identify faults requiring deductions from our deposit, the inspector, Derek, expressed surprise at finding the property in a commendable state. We also had video evidence documenting the state of the property at the commencement of our lease. Despite the above, the property management company retained a substantial portion of our deposit, leaving a meager $116. Their itemized deductions included a charge for a pre-existing TV mount and landscaping expenses, the latter of which was inaccurately represented as comprehensive when, in fact, it encompassed solely basic tree trimming services. It became apparent that the property management company had engaged ineffectual contractors to address the multitude of issues plaguing the property throughout our tenancy. Furthermore, we were unjustly held accountable for purported damages to the paint, despite the fact that we neither altered the wall colors nor inflicted any new damage. Our frustration was compounded upon discovering that the discrepancies noted in our move-out inspection were akin to those present in the move-in/move-out inspections of the property's previous tenants. It appears that the property management company demonstrated inadequacy in maintaining the property for the benefit of its resident families. Upon seeking legal advice, we were cautioned that the expenses of reclaiming our deposit would outweigh the prospective gains. I aim to inform all military personnel in the vicinity to exercise caution when engaging in transactions with this particular property management company.

As a client of Military Mutual for the past 11 years, I couldn’t be happier with the service provided. From the moment I decided to rent out my property, Derek and his team have been incredibly professional, efficient, and responsive. They have exceeded my expectations in every aspect of property management, and I highly recommend their services to any property owner looking for a reliable and professional real estate partner.
