We were in the market to purchase a home in San Diego, and had interviewed a few realtors. We weren't very impressed with these, as most did not seem very motivated with our specific home needs (smaller home with RV parking), and communications were not very prompt. We heard about Ron from a friend who had been living in the area for a long time. We scheduled a meeting and met Ron at his office, Century 21 in La Mesa, where we quickly realized he was the right realtor for us! I have a great appreciation for someone who has been working in the business for a long time, and continues to thrive while others retire early. Ron comes from the old school of hard work ethic, professionalism, always perfectly dressed, very motivated, lively personality, excellent communications, and an EXTENSIVE knowledge of the business. Just so you know, Ron only uses 1 lender locally, Guild Mortgage. The reason - the funding/offer needs to be rock solid. When Ron makes an offer, the seller's realtor knows it is a solid offer. Sellers don't want to deal with a wishy-washy lender. It's all about securing the $$$! We were on the home search for 18 months with Ron representing us. Ron's keen eye noted issues with many of the homes we saw (things we did not see), which helped us avoid making a bad decision. He was more interested in helping us find the right home for us, and not just making a sale. We looked at dozens of homes, and bid strongly on 3 others, losing to CASH buyers, who were bidding well over asking price!? Finally, we found our home. Ron got the ball rolling, our offer was accepted, and the sale went through!!!!!! It was a long road, but Ron stuck with us the whole way, never faltered. That says a lot about someone. I give Ron my highest recommendation!

Ron Durrett is the last of a generation of realtors with solid information, the right (correct, updated and useful) answers, and a level of professionalism - that unfortunately, anyone who can get their realtors license can bring to the table, today. From the moment you first speak with him (over the phone), to the first meet, the process, closing, and post (follow up), Ron never compromises his respectful, attentive professionalism. With anyone and everyone now a day being able to take a course and become a licensed realtor, it is difficult to spot a great agent (as most of the time, an office assistant just passes you thru to the next agent in-line, or at their desk at the moment). Ron is the "referred by" type of cup of tea (you'll sense it, right away). His core focus seems to be Santee, per what we perceived and noticed. However, I'd still (respectfully) try to drag him wherever in Southern California you are seeking to purchase, as well. If any monkey or princess in a fancy presentation package does it, well - I'll be damned if a man of Ron Durrett's calibre can't! Thank you, Ron!

Has been asked multiple times to stop leaving his cheap homemade flyers and note pads at my door. I work from home, it gets the dogs worked up and we don’t need the wasted paper… and yet he continues to bring it by. Will never do business with him. If he can’t respect my request (yes I’ve asked him to his face to not come up to my door) then how can I know he’ll listen if I spent my money through him?
