Alan Glasband’s the Man! Alan’s knowledge helped me get a house in one of the toughest markets in the U.S., SoCal. And I needed a deal (or should I say a STEAL), because I’m a teacher, and while I dig my job, it’s not the most lucrative. With Alan’s help, I got a deal that was nearly a steal. He earned his commission by helping me every step of the way. First, I had to get off the title of a previous property I’d purchased with a partner, so he had his office fill out everything for me and help me file a quit claim deed. Then we wrote offers: close to a dozen, to be exact. All along, we walked the houses together, and he gave invaluable insights on a property’s real value by discussing layout, curb appeal and things to watch out for that really helped me understand what I was looking at. Since I needed a deal, he taught me about short sales, and we put in offers on a couple of properties in probate. Probate properties can get thorny with all the legal issues, and, sure enough, that happened to me, but Alan has access to a real estate attorney so helped me navigate through the maze. Ultimately, with Alan’s advice, I decided to pass because the deal was too complicated and simply not worth the effort. At the end, I was in the enviable position of having three excellent properties to choose from, of course, because it’s feast or famine. Choice overload seized me, and I simply couldn’t figure it out on my own. Fortunately, Alan talked me through it, and he worked with me to break each property down as we discussed things like commute, community, layout—the things that mattered to me the most because he’d been listening to me all during the search and knew what was really important to me. That’s the kind of personal touch you can expect from Alan. He’s your man.
